To celebrate HHS’s 100th anniversary,
guests were treated to an afternoon of old-time baseball
with Dirigo Baseball of Maine, on
August 2nd 2025, 1 p.m. at Tuck Field. The weather was absolutely perfect for baseball, with sunny skies and a light wind. Plenty of food was available from vendors. The game itself was very interesting, with players wearing no gloves and using a vintage style of ball (looking and feeling much like a small softball, and pitched underhand). The rules were also a lot different, governing foul balls, what constituted a catch resulting in an out, etc.
