A booklet about the poetry that John Greenleaf Whittier wrote in relation to his visits to Hampton, NH, written and illustrated by Eleanor A. Becotte, a volunteer at the Tuck Museum. She tells about his background and life in Haverhill and Amesbury, MA. The objects and inspirations for his writings are described along with printings of the poems. Hampton originally was called Winnacunnet, an Indian name meaning "place of Beautiful Pines." The poet died in Hampton Falls, in 1892.
