HHS presents:
New Hampshire War Monuments:
The Stories behind the Stones

Tuck Museum, May 14, 7 p.m.
Note, NOT May 21, as specified in the printed newsletter

Fallen service members from Hampton are part of the larger community of New Hampshire military personnel who have distinguished themselves in every war from the French and Indian War to the dusty mountains of Afghanistan.

The Granite State continues to honor their sacrifices, memorializing their stories in statues, bridges, buildings, and highways. In Hampton, the New Hampshire Marine Memorial at Hampton Beach honors New Hampshire residents lost at sea fighting for their country; the Global War on Terrorism Monument at American Legion Post 35 lists New Hampshire service members who have lost their lives in this conflict since 2001.

Through these and other commemorative sites throughout town, Hampton continues to pay tribute to those who have fallen in the defense of freedom. Author Kathleen Bailey will share the stories of these men and women as she discusses her book New Hampshire War Monuments: The Story Behind the Stones.

Please join us at the Tuck Museum on May 14th at 7:00 p.m. to learn about how these New Hampshire service members are memorialized throughout our state. This event is free and open to all.
